Mr. Hecker is now happy to be back practicing law and conducting mediations.  He enjoys applying his knowledge and experience helping parties resolve disputes through mediation, rather than litigation.


Mr. Hecker is from Green Bay, Wisconsin and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Wisconsin.  He received his law degree from Hamline University School of Law, in St. Paul, Minnesota, in 1986.  Like many Midwestern boys, he heard the call of the great American West and moved to Colorado shortly after graduation. Marty has turned much of his attention to providing alternative dispute resolution services to the legal community and is licensed to practice law in Colorado and is a Certified Mediator.

Martin Hecker has practiced law in Colorado for over 25 years.  He started as an associate at Arthur Burke & Associates working with special districts and practicing in the areas of real estate and bankruptcy.  In 1990, working from his kitchen table with a typewriter, Mr. Hecker started the law firm MJ Hecker & Associates concentrating on bankruptcy, domestic and criminal law, and later expanded into a full service collection/litigation firm employing over 45 people, before selling the firm in 2010.


As a collection litigator, Mr. Hecker has conducted hundreds of settlement conferences while representing his clients.  From that experience, he has gained vast knowledge and experience in conducting alternative dispute negotiations.  Knowledge gained from litigation, settlement discussions, and dispute resolution conferences has given Mr. Hecker the tools necessary to successfully resolve disputes between parties. 


From 2010 to 2013, Mr. Hecker worked as a senior analyst with Promontory Financial Group under a contract with the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, which is an independent

 conducting hundreds of civil trials, numerous criminal trials, as well as his transactional background and strong business acumen has broadened his vision of value, trial strategies and settlement methods.

As a Colorado native, Mr. Coldiron graduated from theUniversity of Colorado in Boulder, in 1986.  He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree and later received his law degree from the University of Denver, in 1991.  He practiced law in both the state and federal courts.

Upon establishing Coldiron Consulting/Coldiron Mediation Group, Mr. Coldiron has turned his full attention to providing alternative dispute resolution services to the legal and business communities and no longer practices law, nor is licensed to practice law, in the State of Colorado.

Mr. Coldiron is a Certified Mediator.

Martin Hecker

Prior to establishing Coldiron Consulting, LLC/Coldiron Mediation Group in 2011, Brad Coldiron practiced law in Colorado for the past 20 years.  Mr. Coldiron started his legal career with the 1st Judicial District Attorney’s Office, then moved to the law firm of Montgomery, Little, Young, Campbell & McGrew where he specialized in the practice of commercial litigation and real estate law.  In 1993 Mr. Coldiron established the law firm of Coldiron & Associates, PC which, in 2004, became Coldiron & Hamrick, LLC.


With Mr. Coldiron at the helm, Coldiron & Hamrick, LLC grew into the largest landlord-only law firm in the state of Colorado.  He specialized in the area of landlord-tenant law, fair housing, discrimination claims, real estate transactions and commercial litigation.
